Some people seem to have it all together, but if you’re like me and you feel like you’re awkwardly in between adolescence and adulthood…it can feel like you’re wandering in the wilderness of life. Here you will find thoughts/lessons from my day-to-day journey as a twenty something gal who is determined to follow Jesus Christ and see His glorious wonders, even when it feels like my compass is spinning out of control.
Hey y’all…Casey here! Just wanted to tell you a little bit about me: I am a graduate of Meredith College in Raleigh, NC (Go Angels!). I graduated with a Bachelors of Arts in Psychology and am now pursuing my Master of Arts degree in Professional Counseling at Liberty University. I decided to take a year off before going to graduate school; not out of confusion or laziness, but just because I felt like I needed to… and boy am I glad I did! God showed me more than I could ever imagine in that year! I wanted to focus on growth: mind, body and spirit. I grew as a person in all ways and most importantly I reconnected with my Savior, Jesus Christ. After running hard in the opposite direction in college, I rededicated and completely surrendered my life to Him at the end of September 2015. That’s just fancy terminology for realizing it’s not about me and turning over my whole life (even the ‘dumb’ stuff) to Him. As a naturally feisty and stubborn individual… this wasn’t the easiest thing to do and it makes more sense why Luke 9:23 says we have to deny ourselves DAILY. It’s both terrifying and freeing to trust God in every single step of your day but I strongly encourage everyone to do so.
Right now my story is being written one day at a time, but I’m so glad the Author of all life cares enough to write my little short story. (WOW!) I am the Queen of spiritual messiness and failure, which is why I want to share openly and honestly each step of my journey because it is a picture of God’s daily grace against all odds.
We are in this together y’all and we have the best Guide available!
“The Lord your God is in your midst,
a mighty One who will save;
He will rejoice over you with gladness;
He will quiet you by his love;
He will exult over you with loud singing.” -Zephaniah 3:17
